Port Haven Village
In March 2009, CIMC MBS was awarded its first major supply contract in Australia, which was to deliver over 1200 rooms to the major mining village in Port Hedland. The village was a design and construct which had some very unique challenges. Largest Modular Hotel
Heathrow Central
At the time of its completion the Travelodge at Heathrow was the largest modular hotel in the world. Confidence in the V System had grown based on the successful execution of the Warminster and Uxbridge contracts and CIMC were involved earlier in the design process which led to more efficient design not only for the modules but also the supporting steel frame required to provide under croft parking.
First High-rise Hotel
Uxbridge
In 2007, following the success of the Warminster project Travelodge increased the scope to include pre-finished ensuite bathrooms and decorated bedrooms to this development. This nine-storey hotel comprised a traditionally built steel frame ground floor with eight levels of V System modules above. Three different room sizes were used in this hotel resulting in different sized modules to suit each type.
The site in Uxbridge faces the main west London bus depot operating a 24 hour service seven days a week. The site was extremely confined with no storage facilities or lay-down area available for any material deliveries.
By having V System modules delivered into site, pre-finished the contractor eliminated the need for site storage and mitigated risk through just-in-time delivery and reduced deliveries. As aresult disruption to the depot was kept to a minimum. As each lorry arrived at the site the modules were quickly lifted into place and located using the patented connector system.
First Hotel Project
Warminster
In 2006, CIMC MBS has achieved its first opportunities to build a hotel for a well-known British hotel brand –Travelodge. Travelodge sought to capitalize on the success of their already trading hotel at a popular roadside service area with minimal disruption to their visitors. The brief involved adding a small two-storey extension without interruption to the existing businesses. CIMC MBS’s solution has truly alleviated tradition build constraints via shorter build time.
First student accommodation
Amsterdam University
In 2005, CIMC MBS successfully delivered its first student accommodation project in the Netherlands. In response to the acute housing shortage and high rental price of student accommodation, Amsterdam University developed a green living solution that offered their students the opportunity of accommodation in containerized cargo modules.
Research and Deisgn
Building on the success of our parent company CIMC Group, CIMC MBS has progressively stepped into the industry of Modular Building. After over 30 years of being the leading manufacturer of modern transportation equipment, CIMC has grown from a container business to one of the largest and most diverse manufacturing groups in the world. Due to the clients’ requirements for speed of construction, improved quality and for early return of investment in construction industry, the rising demand for modular construction has captured the eye of CIMC. After a couple of years of researching and designing, CIMC Modular Building Systems was founded to deliver all the benefits and more by utilising the technology of container.
